This doesn't really feel like a school, it just feels like a place where a lot of family is and you can just grow with this family. You don't have to be perfect to be here. You can mess up a whole bunch of times and you know, you'll still be okay. And the faculty makes you feel like that, if something bad happened at home, they would do anything and everything in their power to make me smile makes me happy, teachers will try to take your mind off of it. Everybody here is just really great.
With the sizes of our classes, you get that one-on-one experience. You can come outside of class, talk to one of the instructors and get that mentorship or that additional push that you need to make it through the program and it's amazing, you can't find that anywhere else.
As a Helms student, you get that opportunity to work out in your local community and fill their needs. From culinary to healthcare services, they partner with local doctors offices, as well as hospitals. Even the program I'm in now is dialysis. So we're working with our local dialysis centers to plug our students in in terms of not only training but also to help them obtain employment. So just being in that -- in partnership with the facilities within the community -- can allow our students to have a smooth transition into employment from education.
